Sun 3 June 2012 ~ Jubilee Celebrations in Battersea Park
Seaside Sisters are delighted to be presenting an exciting programme of free craft workshops for the Jubilee celebrations in Battersea Park. Come along to drop in activities to print and sew banners, flags and rosettes to parade with, join in with making a big display of garlands and decorations, and more!
noon – 7pm, Battersea Park, London
Tues 26th to Sat 30th June ~ Seaside Sisters exhibition at Craft Central
The Seaside Sisters return to Craft Central in Clerkenwell for their annual showcase of coastal inspired textiles and prints.
The “queens of coastal craft” have laid all hands on deck to bring you their 2012 collection of seaside themed homewares and accessories. Inspired by holidays spent collecting seashells, mermaid lore and souvenirs, their work celebrates the charm of our British seaside towns on all points of the compass, North, South, East and West.
Create your own souvenirs with the Seaside Sisters exciting programme of print and textile workshops running during showcase in the evenings and weekends. Try out print gocco, embroidery or lino printing to create hankies, notebooks and tea towels inspired by the Seaside Sisters collection of vintage souvenirs. Children can take part in the signal flag treasure hunt around the show. Details of workshops and bookings are below.

Crafty Pint, monthly
Gillian and the Handmade in Tooting designer-makers launched this series of craft afternoons in lovely South London pub Tooting Tram and Social, back in March 2011. A North London venue the Stapleton Tavern, curated by Seaside Sisters, was added in May. Each three-hour workshop costs just £15 and they range from jewellery, textiles, printmaking and bookmaking to mosaic, ceramics and fused glass. All the materials are included, you can sip drinks from the bar as you make something wonderful, and we’ll bring along some home made cakes for you to enjoy too.

The Stapleton Tavern is under new management and we are waiting to see if we can return to running Crafty Pint North here during 2012.

I hope we get to meet you at an event or workshop. Let us know if you have a particular class in mind that you’d like to do.
Coming up are monthly activities with Crafty Pint, some Gocco workshops and a Printed Wonders show in May, and we have a big Jubilee extravaganza on June 3rd with free workshops all day.
Cheers
Xtina
